tRANSLATION
Translation is our core business. This involves conveying a text in a different language, a different culture in a way that makes it seem like the new text isn’t even a translation.
Each text is, of course, reviewed in line with the principle of dual control.

We work with Trados translation software, which saves time thanks to its terminology recognition feature. A company-specific language database built up over the course of the company’s projects ensures the consistency of terminology.
Would you like to have a text that’s already been translated edited to make sure it’s error-free? We can review and polish your text to ensure that it’s suitable for your target audience, correct stylistic weaknesses and correct common errors, such as typos, translations that are too literal, false friends and misunderstandings.

Want to convey a message, but you can’t find the words? We can help you formulate your idea and come up with just the right words. Finding the right words means either writing in a matter-of-fact way or employing a more creative style, based entirely on your needs, coming up with a text without any redundancies, one that has perfectly articulated reasoning, that is honest, clear, stylistically flawless – in short, a text you’ll enjoy reading and that will stay with you.

This service is offered in English and French.

I love working with languages, and I even find technical texts – the ones most people consider to be “dry” – exciting... read more

Why do I work in translation?
Because I love languages and communication. Each text contains an encoded message at the linguistic and cultural level. Translators must decode these messages and reinterpret them for the target audience in a way that makes sense to them. To me, each text is a journey that involves discovering, learning and interpreting.... read more

As you may be able to tell from my name, my roots are in the Netherlands, but I've now lived in Switzerland for over 30 years. My passion for languages made it easy for me to learn German and Swiss German very quickly, which meant I soon felt at home in Switzerland. Languages have been a big part of my life since childhood, and even now there are aspects of them that fascinate me anew every day. I enjoy using my language skills on my travels to make connections with local people and places.
In 1999 I received my translation degree... read more

As with the rest of the diagora team a love of languages has shaped my life. A wonderful teacher in high school got me hooked on learning German and since then I have not stopped pursuing my language studies. After receiving degrees in German and Translation & Interpretation I began working as a professional translator in 2005.
I am originally from the US but I have been living abroad... read more
Why it makes sense to work with independent translators rather than with an agency
-
Because our professional livelihood depends entirely on your satisfaction. It is impossible for us to sacrifice quality for quantity.
-
Because a single point of contact makes communication easy.
-
Because a project completed by the same person is a guarantee of cohesion and stylistic consistency.
-
Because with a continuing partnership, mutual trust and a precise understanding of your needs makes our work easier and ensures better results.
-
Because we have undertaken to translate your texts ourselves and never to subcontract them.
